Origami Studio ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Bible island macOS application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Content Data: Links and other content you save within the App are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit or store your saved content on our servers.
Automatically Collected Information
- Analytics Data: We use Amplitude to collect anonymized usage analytics, including app interactions, feature usage, and general engagement patterns. This helps us improve the App experience.
- Hostname Data: When you save links, we may collect the hostname (e.g., "youtube.com") for categorization purposes. We do not collect or store full URLs or page content.
- Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and diagnostic information to identify and fix technical issues. This data may include device type, operating system version, and app state at the time of a crash.
- Purchase Information: We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat processes purchase transactions and may collect transaction IDs and subscription status. We do not have access to your payment details (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.), which are handled directly by Apple.
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your saved content is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is not accessible to us.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's functionality
- Process and manage your subscription or purchase
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
- Diagnose and fix technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers who assist in operating the App:
- Amplitude (analytics)
- Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting)
- RevenueCat (subscription management)
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
Data Retention
- Local Data: Content stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- iCloud Data: Data synced to iCloud is retained according to your iCloud settings and Apple's policies.
- Analytics Data: Anonymized analytics data is retained for up to 24 months.
- Crash Reports: Crash data is retained for up to 90 days.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information. Local data is stored using macOS security frameworks, and any data transmitted to third-party services uses industry-standard encryption.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data stored locally on your device at any time through the App
- Delete your data by removing content within the App or uninstalling the App
- Manage iCloud data through your device's iCloud settings
- Opt out of analytics collection by adjusting your device's privacy settings
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
International Users
The App is operated from South Korea. If you are accessing the App from outside South Korea, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries where our service providers operate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date.
